- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2017The book is full of surprises and the reader gets to know the characters well. I did not expect the climax at all--very creative.
The author is very descriptive and did a great job describing the scenes throughout--I have a very low pain tolerance, and the author's description of how the heroine felt after falling and hitting her head actually made me queasy along with the character.
The ending wraps everything up nicely, but I was very disappointed by which guy the heroine picks to be with. I definitely would have made a different choice. Overall, though, A+ read. Loved it!

Wow, this book doesn’t half take you on a twisted rollercoaster ride. It definitely lives up to its title and doesn’t disappoint either. The plot is very realistic and believable despite being shocking at the same time and it makes you think and consider life round you.
It follows Mel who is a florist and together with her sister Joan they run their parents business. Joan is always setting Mel up on blind dates and she’s had enough. Through sheer pestering, Mel agrees to one more date as apparently she just had to meet Mr. “Breathtakingly Handsome”
Miguel aka Mr. “Breathtakingly Handsome” meets Mel and is instantly drawn to her. Her beauty astounds him and he cannot believe that he has been set up with her. She is well worth the drama and hassle that being with her will cause.
Jump to 3 years later and Mel and Miguel have their 2 year old son Josiah who needs surgery. They agree to take him to Peru where Miguel’s family is from and where the best surgeons will be. But from there all is not as it seems. Mel starts to fear for her and her son’s safety and as secrets are revealed she finds help in a tattooed ex-marine with a heart of gold. But just who will Mel choose at the end of it all?
I adored this book when reading about how Miguel wooed Mel. He is so romantic and caring and despite his own family issues he knows how to turn on the charm. They are such a cute couple and I was routing for them throughout the book. I loved how this book deals with some pretty tough yet truthful situations and stigmas. I can’t say too much more about them without ruining the book but let’s just say throwing Brett the ex-marine into the mix makes the book sizzle even more.
I wish I could give the book a full 5 stars but I found the end a little lacking. After all the build up with Miguel, his family and Brett, not to mention the situation they all find themselves in, I wanted a more explosive ending but it became a bit of a damp squib. It wouldn’t put me off reading any more of this authors work though and I’m happy I found a new author to look up and stalk

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but bad end
I really liked this book and would have given it five but for the fact that only someone really dumb would k d not know the difference between Afghanis and Peruvians .The ending I did not like because no one in their right mind would give up love for a deceitful man would they ?

1.0 out of 5 stars A REALLY IRRITATING READ! (Ending killed it for me!) *SPOILERS*
DON'T bother if you're looking for a HEA because this book does not deliver. I almost thought a man must've written it its so not in touch with most women's psyche. Having spent most of the book in love with the main hero of the saga, we're treated to a last page 180 flip of epic proportions.
Can't believe I struggled to the end of all that, only to see Mel ditch the main live interest for her ex-husband who indirectly almost caused her and their son's deaths!
Well THAT'S several hours of my life I'm never getting back!!
A REALLY IRRITATING READ!
