Contemporary romance author Sarah Robinson brings readers a new standalone novel set in the glamorous hills of Hollywood and tackling challenging themes like the intersection of sexuality and female empowerment.

Ben Lawson is making a comeback...
After a few tabloid headlines, they think they know me. They don't know a damn thing.  As CEO of a movie production company, I'll show them who I really am when we hit it big at the box office. My ex thought her smear tactics would ruin me, but I'm unbreakable. Rising from the debris, I swore I'd never let a woman distract me like that again. But then, my leading actress walked on the set and changed everything.

Seductive, sexy, and unapologetic, Aria Rose could break me. I wanted to help her, protect her...love her. Instead, I destroyed her.

Aria Rose is baring it all....
I knew better. I knew not to trust another Hollywood heartthrob with a reputation like his. He was my boss and became my ruin. I should have stayed far away from him. Ben Lawson promised me the world. He even promised me his heart.

But he destroyed everything--my heart, my career, us.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Nudes (stand-alone). Forbidden affair between movie executive & his most recent star is rocked by sex scandal!

Nudes (stand-alone) features the story behind a scandal. Movie executive Ben Lawson has just taken over the running of a movie studio. Aria Reynolds aka Aria Rose is the star in his latest production.

Against their better judgement, they embark on a hot and steamy secret affair, until nude photos are leaked. Now they must deal with the aftermath. It’s a long road back to truth and forgiveness in an industry fueled by rumors and scandal.

Seven words to describe Ben Lawson: Charming, reflective, honorable, easy-going and seductive.

Five words to describe Aria Reynolds aka Aria Rose: Naïve, independent, trusting, ambitious and honest.

Nudes, told from dual POVs starts of as forbidden affair that is quickly derailed by lies and betrayal. I was rooting for them both; from media darlings to tabloid frenzy and all the way to the perfect Hollywood ending.

3.5 stars. With a cover this hot, one can make assumptions about what the book will be like but to be honest, it didn't turn out quite like I expected. Ben will be running the studio that Aria is wrapping up a movie for. They meet and have instant sparks but both have been burned before. The resistance doesn't last long thank goodness because these two are combustible together.

I found myself liking who they were as individuals. Despite their fame and notoriety, they were surprisingly down to earth. Aria finds herself in a tough situation that she handles like a champ. Ben really gets the opportunity to show up and he does so in a big way. As is typical with many stories, the characters have a misunderstanding they could've cleared up with a good talk but then we wouldn't be as entertained.

All in all an enjoyable read. Safety: No others for either. No rape or abuse.

Rising actress Aria Rose learns it the hard way that sexism, manipulation, and betrayal are alive and well in Hollywood. After wrapping up on a movie project, she meets Ben Lawson, the new CEO of the studio behind her film. One moment they're talking, the next they’re in a whirlwind romance they both agree would only last the weekend.

But with a connection like theirs, it’s hard to let go, and soon everything is entangled in their romance. They both have their own battles to face, but they’re doing it together.

It’s interesting to see a story that shows the uglier side of the entertainment industry and the injustices women face in said industry. It’s hard for women like Aria to go through everyday life at work because not only do they have to constantly protect themselves from the people in the industry, they also have to defend themselves from the effect of the press and what they’re saying about them. Women are given impossible standards and are ridiculed for the smallest things.

Women are given impossible standards and are ridiculed for the smallest things. I applaud Aria for staying strong amidst her battle with a community that slut-shames, body-shames, and looks down on women.

I’ll be honest and say it took me a while to get into it. I’m not the biggest insta-love fan out there, and that’s what Ben and Aria have. I loved the forbidden romance aspect, but it annoyed me that they kept saying they’re going to keep it on the down-low but didn’t bother hiding what they had.

It’s easy to see the chemistry between Ben and Aria, and it was nice to see that their chemistry does not end outside the bedroom. The two are so in tune with each other even after only knowing each other for a short while.

Nudes is a standalone novel told in alternating POVs. It’s a fast-paced, gritty, and sizzling novel that will not only leave you swooning, but also hoping for a less judgmental society. Especially against women.

"This is surreal. And it's just the beginning."
description

Nudes is a contemporary romance full of passion, romance, and scandal. The Hollywood lights shine brightly on Ben Lawson and Aria Rose and when the fire gets too hot, will they be able to withstand the heat or will they burn?

description
"This is different. Aria, you and me are electric."
Aria Rose is an up and coming actress. Although she has landed a few pivotal roles, she is still waiting for her big break through. After a few messy hook ups and break ups, Aria is convinced that she needs to stay away from Hollywood Men and focus on her career. However, when she meets Ben Lawson, the CEO of an up and coming movie production company, they share an instant connection.

description
"He dove in deeper, alternating between pushing inside her with his tongue, suckling her, and licking the length of her core."
Ben knows better than to get mixed up with one of his actresses. After his messy divorce, the last thing he needs is another scandal in his life. When he meets Aria, she is like a breath of fresh air. She is younger, sweeter, and hotter than anything he has ever met before. Aria and Ben decide to share a quick weekend together and then move on like it never happened. However, fate had another plan for them. Aria and Ben fall head over heals in love with each other. But an up and coming actress dating her producer is certain to produce some bad press for them both. Despite their best efforts to stay away from each other, they can't seem to stay away. As their physical attraction grows, the emotional bond continues to forge, and Ben and Aria decide to try and make it work. But before they have the chance to celebrate their new romance, a horrific scandal threatens to destroy them.

description
"Shit, Aria. You might be my drug. I can't get enough of you."
Told in dual POV, Nudes is a forbidden Hollywood romance full of heart. Although the connection between Ben and Aria is fast, the relationship was raw and beautiful. The pacing of the read was intense as the scandal hits and Ben and Aria are torn apart. The supporting characters enhanced the story greatly. As each moment of the plot unfolds, I became more invested in this story. I enjoyed the relationship between Aria and Ben. The severity of the scandal that hits Aria presented a great conflict for their relationship and caused Aria to face off with the paparazzi and the "big bullies" of Hollywood. This element of the plot enhanced the story and certainly exposed the ugliness and hate that exists in our world today.

description

Overall, Nudes is a beautiful love story with strong characters and a great message. Aria and Ben will appeal to readers who enjoy a Hollywood romance or the forbidden romance trope. Sara Robinson has always been one of my go-to authors and Nudes certainly did not disappoint!

4 Stripped Bare and Strong
* * * * Spoiler Free-ONLY $0.99 FOR ONE WEEK !!
We live in a day and age where anyone can hide behind a keyboard spewing cutting and hateful words. There is no direct responsibility, no ownership, or blowback to the author of these types of comments. It was only a matter of time for an author to address this and do it within a story with all of the necessary seriousness. Sarah Robinson took this concept and put it front and center with another current issue happening today. The mixing of these situations with the backdrop of the Film Industry worked.

We come into the world Nude...a blank canvas where our life experiences color everything about us. We learn to protect ourselves with layers to fight off what will cause us pain... what will leave us open to hurt...yet when we find The Person who we fit with...

We risk everything...

Both of these characters cross paths when neither were looking to have a relationship. They did have this desire, though... a type of chemistry, and want which could not be denied...So they decided to have a little fling... enjoy, wring out all of the lust and then move on...But when two people fit...and not just physically...it is very hard to let that go...

A romance begins and then manipulations happen from outside sources...causing some insecurity with the man in this relationship.

Then all hell broke loose...And it is a missed opportunity for support and communication which causes so much pain for her... Leaving her stripped bare and experiencing a person's worst nightmare. It is during this time that we see what she is made of... and it is impressive.

This is a romance... and there are lovely moments between our main characters...But there is also betrayal, anger, and a stark understanding of what assumptions are made... based on gender...and an unwillingness to call it out rather than to accept it.

This romance takes the current hurdles we all believe could happen and then gave us a romance to help us through it. Sarah Robinson in her acknowledgments highlighted all the backstory and it was very relevant.

NUDES: Is the first book in the (EXPOSED #1) series by Sarah Robinson

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

What makes this review so hard to write up is either way I go about writing it up would be divulging spoilers whichever way I go about it. Sooooo this is going to be as spoiler free as I can possibly make it.

Thirty year old Ben is a newly appointed chief executive officer at ‘Shepherd Film Studios’ which is one of the oldest standing companies in Hollywood. Maguire Industries had recently hired him to bring new and innovative changes to the industry to keep up with other firms changing ways which appealed to younger generations. Ben was Shepherd Films last resort.

Aria is a twenty-five year old up and coming actress and a fan favourite amongst the younger audiences. Coming out of a rough relationship she doesn’t want to jump into another one with so many things happening in her life.

Ben’s just fresh out of a divorce from his actress ex-wife and is sworn off woman entirely for now. And vowed he would never fall in love with an actress again, no matter how beautiful she was.

BUT

what happens when these two meet and they feel something they have never felt before?

Souls that feel a kinship when they meet someone with a similar spirit.

Neither want a relationship but they give themselves one long weekend together, after that they both walk away and return back to their separate lives,
as strangers..coworkers..producer and actress.

But what if something stranger than they are prepared for keeps pulling them back together?

The chemistry and romance between the two sizzled off the pages. There's insta-lust, insta-fuck, intsa-love, and I think that’s where it kind of wrecked it for me, it was too fast, they met, they had an insta-lust going on, then they did the deed. I just kind of wanted more of a build up, but other than those small details I really really enjoyed this.

Aria Rose has worked hard to get where she is. After several years of bit parts and B movie roles, she’s finally starring in the role of a lifetime and, come hell or high water, she’s going to make the most of it. She’s earned that right, after all. Falling for the new head of the studio producing her movie wasn’t part of the plan.

Ben Lawson's done with actresses. After his ex-wife did her best to ruin his reputation with the hopes of furthering her own movie career, all Ben wants to do is make the struggling movie studio he now runs a success. All of that changes when he gets a glimpse of Aria on set working.

"I don't believe in soul mates, remember?" She hid her eyes from him, but the corners of her lips were tilted north.
"Liar." He tipped her chin up and met her gaze. Warmth flickered in his eyes. "Maybe you didn't before, but you believe in it now. You believe in this."

Even the best attempts at keeping things hot but casual for one weekend only are no match for the machinations of Hollywood and soon Aria and Ben find themselves dealing with a situation they never saw coming.

I loved the chemistry between Aria and Ben. It was instantaneous and scorching, which is always a big thumbs up in my book. As intense as their relationship was when it came to the sexy stuff, I wasn’t necessarily feeling the overall relationship itself. Thoughts of “This can only last for a weekend” to “this is more, right?” seemed to come at lightning fast speeds and without a lot of build-up. I was never really sure if Ben and Aria were actually feeling the feels or just thought it’d be nice to spend more naked time together.

The underlying message of Nudes is fabulous. I think we can all agree that, in general, people should be treating each other with more kindness and respect. In our current climate, being a celebrity, in particular a female celebrity, and navigating the evils of the internet and social media can be rough. While the message itself really resonated with me, I’m not sure the execution of this particular plot point worked for me.

I had my ups and downs with Nudes but I can say with certainty that I enjoyed the writing and the ideas that Sarah Robinson is trying to convey with the story. While I didn’t love everything about Aria and Ben’s journey, it was an overall enjoyable one.

Nudes by Sarah Robinson is the first book in the Exposed Trilogy Hollywood Romance series and the first one that I have read by this author. The author brings the expected romance and misunderstandings. However, there is much more to the novel once you get into it.

Ben Lawson is the new CEO of a movie production company and Aria Rose/Aria Reynolds is the female lead in the latest movie that is being filmed. Despite their better judgement, they have chemistry and start a secret affair. When intimate photos surface of Aria, it seems that both of their dreams are destroyed. Both characters had strengths and flaws that made them more relatable and there is a nice variety of secondary characters that provide conflict and support.

Going into this novel, I thought it might be a 3 star read, but the latter part of the book upped that a star. But in addition to the usual intense connections and steamy scenes, the book tackles some important issues including family, friendship, trust, image, the importance of reading a document before you sign it, and the different ways women and men are treated when something private is leaked, as well as the various responses to such an event. Therefore, there are also themes of gender equality, women’s rights, and exploitation.

The prose was well-written and engaging, but I could have done without some of the language. Overall, this was an enjoyable and entertaining read that tackles some serious issues.

Thanks to the author for a complimentary copy of this novel through a giveaway and the opportunity to read and provide an honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way. The publication date was May 22, 2017.

Boys will be boys, they said, and then they turned to me and called me a slut for the exact same thing.

The book was ok, partly sweet, even cheesy. Safe.
I didn’t enjoy the love story much; but I appreciate the author’s message to us.

Double standards are also strong in Hollywood.
And they rule our society, unfortunately.

Shame on all of us who blamed the heroine, who commented dirty on her pictures, who called her names.

Haters will hate. F*ckers will f*ck up.
F*ck them.

I loved that the heroine didn’t give up, she stood strong for herself. This part wasn’t written very “convincing”, but the line spoke for itself:

“The support for her had been overwhelming and what had initially been a slut-shaming witch hunt had turned into a female empowerment campaign.”

The love story was sweet. Both MCs were likable; full package.
It just couldn't connect with them.
But I still enjoyed it.

Cute epilogue.

And very beautiful cover!

-----------------------------------------------
"It didn't matter that she'd earned her role on her talent. All that mattered was the perception, and honestly, she hadn't stacked the cards in her favor. Fuck. If I was a man, this wouldn't be a problem. She'd be lauded for her sexual prowess and playboy abilities if she had a damn penis."

"She's a slut, he's a playboy."

"Because being the victim of a complete invasion of privacy and sexual exploitation doesn’t make me ‘classy’ anymore?"

Loved it. Ms. Robinson just keeps getting better and better.

Great chemistry between Aria and Ben. They smoked up the sheets, walls, desks, couches, whatever surface happened to be near by. They were just made for each other..soul mates. Her parents, sisters and friends were amazing. There's a bunch of crazy ex drama to keep it very interesting. Plus there's a great message...WE CAN DO BETTER!

Being famous isn't for the weak. The world is still so full of double standards. Imagine scrutiny of every little thing you do. Living your life under a microscope, being judged about the way you look, talk or even who you associate with. Sarah Robinson did a great job of writing a glimpse into the life of a rising actress.

From the first chapter you could see the disaster headed Aria's way. She was such a likeable character that I wanted to shield her from what was about to happen. I love that she had a leading man that was good and honorable and even though he wasn't able to protect her from what was to come, he fights for her.

Duel POV's, other woman/man drama from both exes, no cliffhanger and we get a nice epilogue. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Aria is a 25-year-old up and coming Hollywood star. She's only ever had small parts, but the movie she just wrapped is going to be really big!
Ben is the 30-year-old brand new boss of the studio that produced Aria's film.
And he's also just fresh out of a horrible divorce with his actress-ex-wife - so he's definitely not looking for anything new.
But then Aria and Ben meet and it's insta-love/lust/attraction for both. But they agree that it can only ever be this one weekend while he's not yet officially her boss. Because it could destroy both their careers once people find out - especially hers!
But of course once you find something real in Hollywood, you can't just forget about it after just one weekend.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH ARIA & BEN?
WILL HOLLYWOOD GIVE THEM A CHANCE AT A HAPPILY EVER AFTER??
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT ☺

I loved this book!

I really loved it! And yes, I sound a bit suprised! Because I was expecting something soo completely different.
I wasn't going to mention the cover in the beginning of my review, but I just have to. But please remember that I just said that I LOVED the book. Keep that in mind while reading my little upcoming cover-rant.☺ Or if you love the cover, just scroll past it!!! ☺ Also, I know that the cover has special meaning to the story and the author. It's supposed to be one of those DO OR DON'T JUDGE A BOOK/PERSON BY THEIR 'COVER'? moments. .... but still ....
I will put it all in a hidden spoiler thingy, so that, if you love the cover, you don't have to read my rant - and PLEASE - if you haven't read the book yet, but are a bit scared all of a sudden - READ THE BOOK! Don't judge it by the cover - please! Don't be scared! ☺
Okey Dokey - here goes

I think I'm gonna stop this rant now - I could go on and on about the cover. But in the end it is SO not my decision what's on the cover of a book! And I also know that many readers will love this cover.
So, please don't do as I did and judge this book by its cover - READ IT!!!! And I know you will love it!
Rant Over!

Back to why I loved the book! Because I did!
I loved it because I love Hollywood Romances and Ben and Aria were soooo adorable. On their own and together. They meet and they just click. It could all be this immediate Happily Ever After, but of course we have lots of problems coming up. Especially those double standard ones. That a woman dating the studio boss ... must have slept her way to the top. And that is soo not the case here. But this is Hollywood and Aria and Ben have some very tough moments to fight through until they'll get to ride off into their Happily Ever After Sunset!

Another little spoiler thingy now ... don't read it if you haven't read the book or if you're scared of a little spoiling!

The main characters were very lovable and sweet and adorable and nice and good and Aria's friends and family were great too (I loved her mom - also her manager! She was so not one of those horrible stage-mom persons!) - we'll get to hear more about Aria's sisters in the upcoming books!
I enjoyed reading this book - the whole atmosphere and all those feelings and sparks and moments. I loved it. And I also hated all the bad things that happened! And as mentioned before - mainly in the spoiler thingies - I had some problems with the book too, but I still enjoyed reading it very much!

NUDES was a very sweet & adorable & sexy Hollywood Romance with a very serious background. A Romance that makes you think and that makes you want to be better and think before you talk/type. Run to your nearest amazon for your own Ben, because this one is MINE!!!

***ARC provided by the author via NetGalley/The Rock Stars of Romance***

I admit it, there are a lot of books that I finish and then I get to the review a few days later. I know I should write them immediately, but I don't.

This one, however, is getting the review about 45 seconds after I finished, because it is that good and I don't want to lose my thoughts on it, even though I always have notes, for this one, I want it fresh.

This book is good. Really good.

There's so much that I could talk about. Their relationship, how they are both in a place where they don't think they can be more than a weekend fling, but how fate throws them together again and again until the realize they don't want to fight their attraction any longer. So, things are good, and then as the blurb says, things go really wrong for Aria, and Ben looks to be the one responsible. The reader knows both sides of the situation, which is an excellent choice on the part of the author, as it makes what happens, and the resolution of it, work well.

The blurb gives the impression that the sex scandal, the exploitation that happens, in the book is perpetrated by Ben. Well, it is, and it isn't. I am not able to get into the actual events without spoiling it, but I can say that this is a romance, and there is a happily ever after and there is no way you could find a happily ever after with a man who exploited you sexually, I am pretty sure this is one of the "rules" of romance novels in general. I will leave the details of what happens for you to discover on your own.

Ms. Robinson, in the notes at the back of this book mentions some things that may or may not surprise you, but gives a depth to the story that will leave you thinking about the book in a different way. And, the internet. Again, not telling you, read the book.

She also mentions that she wrote the initial draft of this rather quickly. And you can tell. Not that it is bad, the exact opposite. There is a flow to the story, to the words, to the dialog and the entire construction of the book that you can tell there is a connection to the story for the author, that this was a book she just had to tell.

I am very glad she did. From the dedication (which was so perfect) to the end, it was so worth the read.

I recommend this book.

It's obvious that the person who left the negative review had not read the actual book. When you read the story, you'll realize that it does NOT glorify sexual assault at all. I don't want to give away any spoilers but the leak of the photos is NOT the way you think it happens. It merely adds to the multidimensional aspect of the characters and allows us to understand that there are ways you can mean to do one thing and end up doing another.

Additionally, this book is fiction. So saying it glorifies sexual assault is like saying Gone Girl glorifies murder and framing your husband for it (spoiler alert lol). It's a BOOK.

Further, as someone who has read many of Sarah's books and who follows her on social media, she is a huge advocate for women and women's rights. It would literally be against her moral character to write a book glorifying the harm of women.

But all of this is to say - the book is actually amazing if you've read it (and not just read the teaser and based an uneducated opinion on that). It is relevant in today's world where these leaks have become more prevalent. Further, it shows characters who are more than two-dimensional and who, like all of us, carry emotional baggage that can influence our actions, both for good and for harm.

This is one of my favorite books by Sarah and I hope others give it a read!

Let's glorify sexual assault by using it as a vehicle for romance! So cute, the woman falls in love with her perpetrator (who leaks nude photos without her permission) and all is forgiven.

Get OUT with this nonsense.

Generally speaking, yes. “Involuntary porn,” the nonconsensual creation, publication, or dissemination of a person’s private intimate image, for no legitimate public concern, should be legally actionable in almost every situation. **Nudes generously provided in exchange for an honest review.**

3 "I wouldn't dare." Stars

The cover and blurb peeked my interest towards Sarah Robinson's Nudes and I found the Hollywood romance within it's pages satisfying. This story is fast-paced. There's insta-lust that attracts a mutually beneficial relationship for Hollywood actress Aria Rose and studio executive Ben Lawson. Both coming off from previous relationships where they were exploited the two decide on a couple of days of passion with nothing further. As the story evolves so do their feelings.

The chemistry and romance between the two was great. Aria and Ben had fun together both between the sheets and not. I enjoyed their friendship as much as their love. There were a few times throughout the story where I thought the plot had holes or fell a bit flat. The potential for the scandal and conflict seemed greater than it actually had been executed. However, this book conveys an important message to women, to humans actually whether they be female or male and I commend Sarah Robinson for that. I wish that message were threaded throughout the text more rather than as means of conflict and resolution but the importance of that message remains very strong.

If you like Hollywood-esque, fast paced, and insta type romance books Nudes will check off all kinds of boxes for you. Robinson's writing easily allows you to feel for her characters and the chemistry they exude. It's enjoyable and easily read in just a couple of days.

This is a super good standalone from Sarah Robinson. From start to finish I inhaled and loved every word of this story. I had a great afternoon reading this.

Ben and Aria are the main characters. I loved both of them. I was really rooting for them both but things aren't gonna go easy for either. We also get some great secondary characters.

This is one of those stories that I'm struggling to review without spoilers. The blurb is enough so get 1-clicking and enjoy.
Looking forward to reading more from this author.

***AVAILABLE NOW - FULL REVIEW***

3.5 Scandals Crowns

Sarah Robinson's novel, while a romance, really hits on some serious issues plaguing women today. While the story is intriguing on its own, the themes that run through the book are worth every single minute spent reading it.

Both of the characters, Ben and Aria are very likable characters. Ben is the perfect gentleman and showers Aria with the love and affection she deserves, and Aria is an independent and talented heroine. While their chemistry is believable and enjoyable to watch, it lacked a certain spark. There is nothing wrong with their character development or choices nor their intimate moments, but it just didn't connect for me.

The development of this story is filled with insta-lust and well-paced plot. Sarah Robinson places the reader right at the beginning of the scandal, and then jumps back to the exposition of the novel. What is clear pretty quickly is who will be responsible for the released photos, but not a certain characters involvement. Even though the plot development is clear early, what makes this a worthwhile read is the theme she creates. The stand Aria makes against slut-shaming, against verbally attacking each other, and against body shaming is phenomenal. The moment she refuses to succumb to these comments and the pressures of Hollywood is such an inspirational experience, and I love how her friends rallied behind her. This really makes it a worthwhile read.

Nudes is the first book in a new series by Sarah Robinson. It is plotted well with likable characters, and while this one didn't personally connect with me as a reader, it still is valuable in this social media, comment crazy world we live in, and as she says in the novel, we need to do better!

Title: Nudes
Author: Sarah Robinson

4 unexpected stars

This is the first time that I've had a chance to read a book written by Sarah Robinson and boy was Nudes not the story that I expected! It's so full of twists and turns that I don't think I could have guessed what would have happened next. With the onslaught of Hollywood actors getting their account ts hacked and their personal information leaked in as many social media outlets as possible, Nudes was the perfect story that made it more personal ~ I got to know the woman, Aria, whose information was spread every, and the man, Ben, who was behind it all.

4 breath taking dreams

It was the type of read that kept me entertained from start to finish. The emotions, the feelings and the chemistry between these two was completely unexpected and yet, it was exactly what was needed for me to understand the mindset behind these events. He drama was just enough to make my heart pound and more than a little curious to read more from Sarah Robinson in the future to find out what else she has to offer!

The Prologue is 2 months from now. Aria is awakened by her cell phone blowing up with calls, texts and voice mails.......
In Chapter One, Aria, the h, is wrapping up filming her first movie. Her first starring role.
The cover of the book. doesn't accurately depict Aria. IMO she's more of natural beauty. Red lipstick? Nah.
This is told in 3rd person POV.
Ben (H), is the new studio head for Shepherd Film Studios. Ben was assigned by the parent company to bring the studio up to date and successful. He walks onto the set of Aria's movie on the last day of filming.
Ben and all the other crew are dazzled by her moving performance.
Ben is fresh off a nasty divorce with a (bitch of) an actress. Ben's ex Marion smeared his name and kicked him to the curb. He's sworn off ever getting involved with another actress. Rrrrright.....
Ben meets the cast and crew. Russ, the director is creepy creeperson. Eww. Ben is then introduced to Aria- and yep, he's dazzled. Uh oh, not another actress. Ben tries to resist the attraction..............
A little later, it's revealed (to the reader) that Aria and the director Russ had a short affair. It ended when Russ showed his true scummy ways. Ben isn't aware that Russ & Aria were involved. Yeah, don't turn your back on Russ.
Ben and Aria start an affair but keep it quiet. Or so they think. Russ is always lurking.
Ben's ex, Marion makes an appearance that puts brief doubts in Aria's mind. Thankfully Marion is mostly talk.
The middle seemed to slow a bit with a little too much mundane details.
Around the 70% point, the story really picked up. The shit hit the fan. The teaser in the prologue is tearing Aria and Ben apart. Freakin' Russ. What an asshole. Ben does confront Russ- but IMO doesn't fully stand up for himself. Aria thinks the worst of Ben after Russ drags him down with him. Ben made a careless mistake and Aria is paying for it.
Aria was fairly passive & naive in the beginning of the story. SHE's really the one to clean up this mess. Ben grovels and does his part to make amends.
The ending was much stronger. Great HEA. The writing flow was fast.
Correction: it should be: Marina Del Rey, not "the Marina Del Ray". (location of the wrap party)
Another off moment(s) Aria's mom Betty (Aria's manager!) often swore like a sailor and almost sounded like a rapper.
I would have preferred her to act like her mom and more professional when she's working as her manager.
This is a first time author for me. I will probably read more in the future-just no more Hollywood based stories.
Not usually my favorite. 3.75 stars. ARC from NetGalley.

WOW!! This book was so much more than I expected. This book is so much more than the cover. The underlying message Sarah sends is one we all need to be reminded of daily. We are more than what you see. Words hurt - stand up for one another instead of shaming each other.

I can't express how much I truly loved this book. Not just the message behind the story, but the story itself. Sarah wrote two very strong characters who fell for each other immediately. And let me tell you, insta-love stories are a hard sell for me. If the story is not written the correct way, I won't even finish the book. But that definitely is not the case with Nudes.

I won't go into the details of this because it's a story you want to experience first hand. Aria is an upcoming actress with her first leading roll. She won't allow anything to happen that will make it seem like she didn't earn the lead roll all on her own accord. She's focused on her craft and doesn't want anyone or anything getting in her way. She's got a great family behind her and even some awesome friends in this business helping her move up in the world.

Ben is trying to make a comeback after his ugly divorce. He refuses to date another actress or any other woman distract him in this business. But when he meets Aria, nothing can stop him from going after her. No matter what he tells himself or what she says - the chemistry can't be denied. And after a "free agents" weekend, it only seems as though they have added more fuel to the flames burning between them. But it's not easy to keep things a secret in Hollywood - everyone is out for themselves and they don't care who takes the fall, as long as they come out on top.

I couldn't put this book down once I started reading it. I devoured this book within hours. Sarah tells a very compelling and real story that you can so easily believe would happen in Hollywood (even if hasn't already). I loved these characters strength and how they were so resilient, when many would run and hide, lick their wounds. And the message behind it all - so powerful and I love how Sarah delivered it.

If you don't have this book on your TBR list, you definitely need to. This is a book you don't want to be left out on.

 photo 96fc7524d806b73084c0cbcff09600_zpshb9yvbje.gif

NUDES by Sarah Robinson is a sexy, bold and empowering tale that passionately weaves romance, strength, and integrity. In this modern age where social media has been all the rage especially when it comes to fame and popularity, it can also have it’s downfall. Nothing is ever private. Words and pictures are there to be dissected and scrutinized. And so when rising starlet, Aria Rose has pictures of herself leaked out, it will either break her or empower her. Which will it be?

photo 605e321d905427c75d8696ff0ac6a9_zps6upzv3i3.gif The photos were everywhere. She was everywhere. Her breasts, her body, her love life on full display for the world to see. It would have been bad enough if they'd just been images of her posing, but these were pornographic. These were her in her most intimate moments with a man she'd...”

Sarah Robinson tackles this a sensitive subject of fame, invasion of privacy and romance in a whole new perspective. She allows her readers to see behind the lights, camera, and spotlight. She allows her readers to see not Aria Rose, the actress but Aria Reynolds, the human being. As Aria tries to navigate and discover how her trust, love, and life can easily take a turn, she too must pick up the broken pieces of her heart as Hollywood tries to ruin her character.

#NUDES

I adore the simplicity and message of this book. Sarah Robinson easily took a mainstream concept of fame and paparazzi and made it her own as she laid bare and stripped her characters to be vulnerable. Nothing was hidden as Ben Lawson and Aria Reynolds were like an open book. Their connection was real. Raw. And palpable from the start. As much as romance was brewing in the backdrops, I love the message of empowerment and strength. All in all, this book is fast paced Hollywood Romance that will for sure leave a smile on your face.

I am a middle-aged, curvy women who, over time has grown into her own skin. I can't imagine being a public figure and having to endure the rules and stereo types placed on women. I thought the author does a great job in dealing with these issues and empowering women.

Aria is starting out in her acting career but is still a women . There's instant attraction when she meets Ben. There wasn't supposed to be a relationship between this pair but after their weekend together you could feel the sparks that this couple had for each other. I liked the playful banter that this two had. Although, their relationship started out in secret it quickly moved to the forefront.

I thought the book held realistic drama and the perfect amount of it. Because of this it was a bit predictable at times but it didn't sway my like for the book or the story. It showed the good the bad and the ugly when a someone is humiliated and publicly shamed.

I got an ARC of this book from the author via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review :) there were some early reviews available onlive before I started this story... and the one thing they all had in common is that it's really hard to say anything about this book without some major spoilers... and after finishing it... I have to say that I agree with them completely :) it's harder than usual to write a review that won't say anything more than what's already in the synopsis, because it's definitely one of those stories where the less you know is definitely the better :) let it surprise you like it did me... ok, so what CAN I tell you? :)

Aria and Ben... they are the center of the story, but it's not the romance or their relationship that should play the main part in this book... it definitely wasn't my favourite part... :) don't get me wrong, I liked them both, even though I did not agree with every decision they made along the way, and there were moments when I felt like everything was happening pretty fast between them... but they both admitted how swept away they felt with everything that's been happening between them... but on the other hand, just because I didn't necessarily loved every little thing they did, it doesn't change the fact how amazingly Sarah wrote them... they felt real and... flawed in the most human way... they made mistakes and learnt from them... reacting in the best possible way for everything that's been happening to them... and yes, I am perfectly aware of how extremely vague I am sounding right now, and yes... it's totally on purpose... :) ugh... it's as frustrating for me as it has to be for you... :) so what more I can tell you about this book... hmm... not much, that's for sure :) oh, there's one more :) besides the main characters, this book had a few absolutely amazing secondary ones as well :) and even though it's a standalone I wouldn't mind reading a story at some point about some of them... ;) and no, I won't share any names... ;)

When I said that's it's not the romance that should play the main part of this story what I meant is that this whole book has a much bigger and more important message... I can't get into too many details, because it would involve some big spoilers about certain events in this story and different reactions to them, but... there was one scene... one scene towards the end of the book, that absolutely crushed me... it was... beautiful, emotional, raw and just... stunning... I'm just glad I was reading it curled up in my reading chair so I could sob in peace... honestly, it was that good... it was one of these moments that touched me deeply and that will stay with me for long after finishing this story... the whole message of strenght and empowerement and standing up for what's right... it was beautifully handled here :) congratulations to Sarah for writing such an amazing story... it really shows in her words how passionate she was about this story... how much it meant to her... it's also the main reason why I bumped my initial rating from 4 to 4,5 stars... well, the passion AND that amazing scene... seriously, I am tearing up just by thinking about it... trust me when I say, that Sarah is such a talented author... I don't love her books equally, but her writing style is always amazing :) and I think that this story in particular is the one you all should read... don't judge it by the cover... although it's absolutely gorgeous... and don't judge it by just a few chapters... follow the story, read all of it and then form your opinion... I did not expect to read it as fast as I did... because once I started, I just needed to know how it will end... :) so reserve an afternoon and let yourself get lost between the pages of this unique and surprising story... :)

XOXO

NUDES is the first book I've read by Sarah Robinson, but it certainly won't be the only one.

I'll be honest, I was a bit thrown off by the premise of this book at first. I had seen a teaser by the author that made it sound like it was going to glorify sexual harassment. Then I saw a review on GR from someone who hadn't even read it that made me think what I had deciphered from the teaser was true. That being said, it didn't stop me from giving the book a chance. AND the book is NOTHING like what I thought it would be, or what the person who hasn't read it thinks.

NUDES follows the life of a new actress named Aria Rose and Ben Lawson, the CEO of the production company where she just filmed her first movie. With an agreement to be free agents for one weekend together, they both end up with much more than they bargained for.

NUDES is told in third person, past tense. This is very different to me, but it didn't bother me. This POV still allows for the story to be about both characters, with a few thoughts of theirs thrown in to really encompass how they're feeling.

Overall, I enjoyed the storyline. I'm glad to see that it wasn't what I thought it would be and that I felt connected to the characters and their relationship. I loved the bond between Aria and her mother, as well as her connection to other side characters. I think Steele and Travis were my favorites.

I'm excited to read the next installment in this series, BARE, which will be about Aria's younger sister. I'm hoping that characters from NUDES will make an appearance.

***edited to add, I forgot one of the most important things. Sarah uses her voice as an author to advocate for victims of sexual harassment, discrimination, and shaming not only in Hollywood, but society as a whole. This was probably one of my favorite moments of the entire story.

I am so excited to read this book! I already know it'll be good because Sarah Robinson wrote it, and she puts her very heart into writing. Thank you, Mrs. Robinson, for continuing to put good books on our shelves and for creating stories that portray strong women! I look forward to reading "Nudes" & updating my review :)
I hope people give this book the chance it deserves, not just because Robinson is one of my favorite authors, but because you, the reader, will feel right along with the characters. I personally love books that take me and my emotions along for the ride. I enjoy being invested in the characters and knowing that no matter what you face in life, especially as a woman, you can turn any situation around and create something beautiful.

What can I say? I devour Hollywood gossip like there's no tomorrow! So this book was right up my alley! I absolutely loved every single word.

The chemistry between Ben and Aria was off the charts hot. I really loved how Aria wouldn't lay down and take whatever was thrown at her. She got back up and fought. A strong heroine is a rare thing to see, and I'm super glad Aria was a heroic one.

I believe this novel would touch a lot of people because not only is it a FANTASTIC read, but it also shows that no matter what is said or written about your outer appearance, it's what you think about yourself. Not letting words or somebody else's thoughts keep you from living your life and following your dreams. Aria was that person. I think a lot of young women can learn a lot from her.

I certainly did.

Synopsis:
Praised by #1 New York Times Bestselling Author Lauren Blakely, as "Passionate, emotional and uplifting!", contemporary romance author Sarah Robinson brings readers a new standalone novel set in the glamorous hills of Hollywood and tackling challenging themes like the intersection of sexuality and female empowerment.

My Thoughts:
I honestly am at a loss for words. I have been a fan of this author for a while now and I am not surprised at how good this book is, but it is different than what she has written before and her message that comes through is nothing short of amazing. I was captivated from page one all the way through! I fell in love with all the characters and I didn’t want to story to end.

This book has so much substance to it! I don’t want to give anything away because it’s just so good that you need to experience it for yourself. I am so jealous that I can’t read it again for the first time, but I know this is going to be one of my reads that I will re-read over and over again.

This book had all the feels and the heat you expect in romance, but yet it is so much more! I promise you won’t regret picking up this fantastic book!
