    Why Jane, why does the series have to be over!!!
    I'm now in a state of post APOP sadness. That book was incredible!

    The series picks up a short while after the last book ended with Seph having given up position of Voda, the stalker's identity revealed, and dealing with the emotional aftermath of the grief her pairs have been going through. A portrait of pain follows Seph and her pairs (Silas, Miro, Cabe and Noah) in trying to defeat Danny and not get anyone hurt in the process.

    I loved Seph, she seemed a lot stronger in this book in comparison to the others. She just seemed to have hit the wall in terms of immaturity and she was forced to grow up and grow up fast, given the decisions shes had to make. She is finally finding a balance between all of her pairs and has realized she wants a romantic relationship with all of them, not just one, and she loves them all in their own way. I'm definitely going to miss Seph as a character and i'm a little devastated i wont be reading anything new about her now that the series is finished.

    The pairs, what can i say about them. They are honestly some of the best book boyfriends ever.
    Silas; i do have to admit that Silas is probably my favorite from this series, hes just so intense and loves Seph so much, hes even tried to curb his sociopath side a little which was funny to see. Hes got such understated humor and he's absolutely perfect for Seph. Miro, i was a little mad at him at first for what he put the bond through with all his indecision, even after he admitted to himself that he was in love with Seph. When he did address his feelings, holy hell was that HOT! It was completely perfect for their interactions, and i loved from that point on wards he got more vocal about his possessiveness. His scene in the epilogue was amazing and totally hot! Cabe was a sweetheart as always, he honestly was the peacekeeper. He only wanted what was best for Seph, never pushed her and just wanted a piece of her for himself. He had no problems being honest about what he wanted to her and his brothers, and was always a voice of reason and humor. He was an absolute Gem of a book boyfriend. Noah definitely fought for his place in Seph's heart, he was fighting his own demons and was really struggling with finding his place. I'm so glad he got out of his own head and just focused on his bond with Seph, he was the silent and intense of the younger pair and he definitely brought his own unique personality into their bond.
    I wish that we had seen more of the relationship between Seph and the Pairs after they had had sex, i think that would have been really interesting to see. But i'm not complaining at all, because this book was still perfection.

    The side characters were interesting, but we didn't get to see much of them. I was really fascinated by Tariq and his relationship with Jack and the Sophie's, that was bizarre but interesting all in one. Poison and Clarin were also background characters, but i loved their relationship with Seph.

    The last few chapters, equally broke my heart and made me cry of happiness. I just loved everything about this book, the writing, the characters, the plot. I just cant believe its over!!

    There are still parts of the story that I would have liked more clarification on, but on the whole it is a good paranormal kind of tale.

    What an epic end to the series!! Everything comes to a head as Seraph is exposed to the human world as a supernatural killer by the Messenger (we know who it is but I'm not saying as its a huge spoiler- you'll just have to read the books to find out). The build up was so very well written, with comic and romantic reliefs dispersed throughout. Miro and Seph finally lwt go of their preconceived notions of what the other wants and relax around each other and their relationship blossoms. Noah and Cabe manage to steal time alone with Seph and more of their individual characters are revealed. Silas is, well, Silas. He is freaking out the rest of the boys with how much he is smiling (#teamsilas). Poor Poison's car - you'll know what I mean when you read the book. Loved the epilogue as well - while I would love to read more about Seph and her guys (or maybe the next generation??) it did wrap up in a really good way. So go and read the series already - you won't regret it!

    Anything and everything Jane Washington writes is well worth reading. She is an AMAZING author and I’ve read everything she has written and hang out waiting for another release. I will always recommend Jane Washington as an author. She never writes a bad word. Everything from her characters to the imaginary worlds she creates has her unique magic woven into it and you will never put her book down once you start reading- so make sure when you pick up her book you have the time to read or you will have a sleepless night turning page after page as you get sucked into her creations.

    This was well written and fantastic series. It was enthralling and I couldn’t put it down. Seph really grew in this last book as did her pairs and they really found their place together.

    I really liked Seph as a character with her quiet strength, big heart and protective instincts. Her pairs were great book boyfriends bringing a real mix of personalities that gelled with Step and kept the reader captivated.

    My only disappointment was that I felt after this enthralling book that the end was a bit rushed. I also felt I would have liked more of the relationship with Seph and her pairs. Over four books there was a lot of build up of feelings and sexual frustration which was then a bit rushed and glossed over at the end. After the super slow burn, it needed a bit more attention to the relationships at the end.

    I hope there is a bonus epilogue in the future as this is an amazing series and I am sad it its ended.

    The fourth and final book was actually my least favourite of the series. There were a lot of questions in my head that weren't answered and the ending felt rushed to me. However, it's still a series worth reading. Solid character development and plot twists through the story. The first and second book were definitely my favourite, and the boys...gotta love them! They're well thought out and written.

Eine Zukunft, die ihnen ebenfalls bevorstehen könnte. Sie bereiten sich auf den finalen Kampf gegen Danny vor.

    Alles in allem, eine tolle Serie, die sich bis zum Schluss steigert. Einziger Makel ist für mich, dass ich nicht wirklich sehe, wie ein 17-Jähriger eine solche Allmacht entwickeln kann, obwohl seine einzige Fähigkeit direkten Hautkontakt benötigt. Aber ich drücke mal ein Auge zu und geniesse den Lesestoff mit den schönen Covers trotzdem.

    5 stars doesn't feel like its good enough to give to A Portrait of Pain when this whole series feels like its been a big part of my life, even though I only started reading it last year. Have you ever had a book series consume you? Have you ever felt like the characters are part of your life? Well that how I've felt about the Seraph Black series, and now it's over I'm not too sad (well I am sad as I'll miss all the characters) as Jane Washington has done a brilliant job in wrapping up the series.

    From when a friend pushed me to read the first book in the series, I have been entranced and consumed by these books, I have laughed and cried along the way, but A Portrait of Pain is where I have laughed the hardest and cried the most, both happy and sad tears. This book gave me everything I wanted from the final and more that I didn't even know I needed. It wrapped it all up in a paint splattered, unicorn emblazoned, razor edged bow.

    From the beginning I have been #TeamSilas all the way, but I've also always been a #TeamNoah (I'm so glad Jane cleared up something concerning regarding Noah in this book *phew*) and #TeamCabe fan too. Well in this book, Jane managed to also finally make me a #TeamMiro fan too with a super hot, still fanning myself, gas station scene. Seriously, that scene was just something else and I never knew that Miro could be like that, but wow am I so glad to have discovered more about him.

    Seraph, who quite obviously is the main centre point of the story, has grown and developed so much through the series. She's never irritated me as so often main lead characters can. She's been an incredibly well written and complex character who has gone through a lot in her life, but she's pulled through it all and in this final book we see her becoming who she wants to be and making the choices that she feels is right. I may love the boys and be seriously goo goo over all four of them, but I feel that this is where I need to state that I am a #TeamSeraph fan for going through all that she has gone through, but still coming out the other side as a stronger person. She is an admirable main character and she is one of my top 5 female leads.

    Jane Washington really has written a masterpiece here. I am so going to miss Seraph, Silas, Miro, Noah, Cabe, Poison, Clarin, Tariq, Jayden and even Charles. I'm going to miss the banter between Seraph and the guys. I'm going to miss Silas's gruffness. I'm going to miss Cabe's playfulness. I'm going to miss Noah's steadiness and good looks. I'm going to miss Miro's seriousness. I'm going to miss them all, but I'll be going back to re read this series over and over again. Thank you Jane Washington for creating such a great series and for giving it the perfect ending as I've loved all of it, but A Portrait of Pain is my favourite of them all.
