He was the one who got away...or more accurately, stomped on her heart and ghosted. Tyler did a number on her and then left. Nothing, not even a passing by, drunk dial, or mention through friends for 8 long years until a chance sighting at Central Park. In Tyler's mind, this vlast from the fast is exactly what he needs. A chance to right a wrong and to win back the ONE. Poor Tyler, Delaney isn't the type to let him breeze back in. These former besties turned lovers are getting a crash course in second chances, over the top gestures, and what love truly means. Its a hot, swoon fest of romance. The Hot One is without a doubt a feel good, floating on clouds, heart eyed emoji of aural pleasure. With Zachary Webber dirty talking and Andi Arndt cooing, its impossible not to fall in love. I guarantee it or my name is Cat Crazy Pants.

4.5 Stars Hooray!! Another Nichols to fall for!!! It is no secret that I am a proud member of the Nichols fan club (Clay Nichols…*sigh… you are my love). So I was super excited to have another hero to swoon over. I’m happy to report that Tyler Nichols easily measures up to his title. He is every bit the hot one. EVERY Lauren Blakely is a delight to read. The Hot One is no different. This second chance romance is fun, sweet, and it’s a Lauren Blakely book so you know it’s HOT! It’s been eight years since Tyler Nichols has seen Delaney Stewart. Eight years since he broke it off with her and ruined their plans. After their chance meeting in the park, he decides to do whatever it takes to get Delaney back. Except, Delaney doesn’t want to be hurt by him again and is reluctant to revisit anything with him. I’ve come to expect amazing, witty, real like characters from this talented author. No disappointment here. Tyler and Delaney are perfect. These two characters have such a wonderful chemistry. The way they can pick up and interact so effortlessly especially after so much time apart made this an enjoyable reading experience. Delaney is another one of Lauren’s strong, independent, sassy women. Her hesitancy to reconnect with Tyler is understandable because her history of having the important men in her life leave without an explanation. But, after everything fell apart with Tyler, she took control of her life and decided to do what makes her happy. I love that. And Tyler…oh Tyler… that persistent man with the dirty and talented mouth. I could not get enough of him. He’s so charming and funny. When I said he would do whatever it takes, I meant it! The man bared it all at her workplace! He is a risk taker at his job and his love life. Fair warning, prepare to swoon because his relationship with Clay’s daughter is ovaries exploding adorable. A personal note, Tyler’s love for the Los Angeles Dodgers sealed the deal for me. <3 <3 <3 He so dreamy.

I admit I have a weakness for Lauren Blakely’s men, and it’s beginning to sound redundant that I keep saying, “this one was my favorite.” But Tyler Nichols…Oh. My. God. The title is definitely apropos; this man is over the top HOT in oh, so many ways. There’s just something about a second chance romance. This isn’t the first time Lauren has wowed me with a one-that-got-away story, but The Hot One is beyond sweet, it’s even beyond sexy. (Yes. I said beyond). Tyler and Delaney’s story struck a chord with me. Tyler hooked me from the very beginning with his warmth and wit. So if I fell hook, line, and sinker, then it’s no wonder Delaney didn’t stand a chance. The chemistry between Tyler and Delaney is off the charts hot. I loved the characters’ playful banter, and the way they teased and seduced each other. Even more than that, beyond the sex and dirty talk (and yes, there’s plenty of that), the characters have a mature and touching backstory, and I love that Lauren Blakely took her readers there. From Tyler’s honesty about their breakup, to his resolve to win back the woman he let get away, from Delaney’s fear of commitment and even her abandonment issues, the characters’ emotional journey elevated this story to something higher than just a second chance romance. And, can I just say, every girl should have best friends like Penny and Nicole. Friends who aren’t afraid to talk straight, but who also know when it’s time to just stand aside and offer support, knowing they may need to be that soft place to fall, or that they might have to give their friend a little kick in the butt. The Hot One is a read-in-one-sitting kind of story. I couldn’t put it down. Grab a cup of tea and some sustenance, because once you start, you won’t want to stop! Five (plus) HOT stars!
